I Am A Shade-Loving Plant and Lawn Care Haiku

What a lovely surprise that came today!

The weather has finally warmed up. meaning it’s hot. Unless you have come to Utah from the tropics somewhere like Panama, or southern China, or Cambodia. I have some serious weeding that needs to happen in the flower beds that is going to require work before the sun hits the west side of the house. I’m sure it will be worth it, right?

I Am A Shade-Loving Plant (Rictameter)

Full sun –
Best avoid it.
Outside in shade, is fine.
Direct brilliance tortures –
Summer’s squinty sun brings searing headaches
Cutting the beautiful weather
With red and blue sabres
Of pain. Avoid
Full sun.

Today the teenager who mows our lawn came, and like magic my yard looked amazing again. He does such a great job. I maybe will have to buy him a superhero shirt.

Lawn-Care Haiku

It’s beautiful how
He shows up every week to
Mow and trim my lawn.
